Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per bend Vert and Or, two cocks counterchanged.  Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed WATCHFUL ALWAYS in Green letters.

Symbolism
Green and yellow are the colors associated with Military Police.  The cock stands symbolically for vigilance, warning, watchfulness.  The two cocks in the blazon also stand for the two battle honors that the Battalion was awarded for service in World War II, Rome-Arno and Rhineland.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved on 19 December 1956.  It was amended to update the description on 23 August 1989.

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  From a wreath Or and Vert, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts.
